PRESIDENT of the Fiji USA Business Council Himmat Lodhia says 2017 had been quite a fruitful year for the council.

“It was a year where we tried to focus on providing value-added activities for our members and also on rebranding the council so it may better reflect its strategic direction,” Mr Lodhia said.

‘We’ve been able to achieve a lot of things as mentioned in the report.

“In fact one of the highlights is we have increased our membership by 24 per cent and we’ll be increasing our membership further.”

He said to achieve this they were thinking of moving their meetings to Nadi, Lautoka and other places in the West and had even considered having one meeting at Savusavu.

Mr Lodhia said their membership drive initiative undertaken in 2017 had been successful.

“We have also revamped our website, we have a new logo and we’re now on Twitter and Facebook,” he said.

Mr Lodhia, also during the meeting, welcomed the US Embassy’s first secretary and co-opted US Embassy rep Helene Tuling, who replaced former rep Nathan Carter.

The AGM, held at the Peninsula Hotel in Suva, was attended by more than 30 members of the council, the executives and stakeholders.
